Name: FVCC Theatre Presents "The Bald Soprano" and "The Dumb Waiter" One Acts
    Date: November 14, 2019
    Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM MST
    Event Description:
"FVCC Theatre Department’s double-feature production of “The Bald Soprano” by Eugene Ianesco and “The Dumb Waiter” by Harold Pinter opens Thursday, Nov. 14 in the campus theatre located inside the Arts and Technology Building. Performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. Nov. 14-16 and Nov. 21-23. A brief intermission will separate each one-act play. While both plays explore breakdowns in communication, they have very different tones. “The Bald Soprano” offers a hilarious take on the mundanities of life in 1950’s suburban London, as two couples try to enjoy an evening of small-talk. Their conversation devolves into an inane filling of time, revealing the true nature of small talk and possibly of existence itself. “The Dumb Waiter” explores a darker side of communication breakdown, as two hired assassins waiting for their victim in an abandoned basement kitchen receive mysterious messages from a dumb waiter that descends from a few floors above. Tickets for the play are $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors and free for students and can be purchased online at www.fvcc.edu/theatre, in the FVCC Bookstore or at the box office any night of the show beginning at 6:30 p.m."
